Is there any way to run a word mailmerge off of a google spreadsheet? (ie: instead of an excel file)
Why wouldn't you just download it to excel?

Because I'm doing it a few times a week, based on data that someone puts into a google spreadsheet.
Until now I've been downloading, but I was curious if there's a better way.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Love the feeling of figuring out how to work around a stubborn Microsoft Word quirk.

For years I could not figure out why my documents sometimes leave a huge space at the bottom of the page, not allowing me to backspace the paragraph beginning on the following page, even when there is no page or section break.

Today I learned about Widow/Orphan Control, which prevents any part of a paragraph from (r"l) getting separated from the rest of the paragraph.  Check this setting off and...wala (though now I feel a little sad for the few lines that were orphaned :-\)
If you don't care why would you comment?

What do you use for email? If it's gmail then you can.

I use gmail. How would that help with a mailmerge that I'm printing out?

Pressing control-v while in outlook will create a new mail item with whatever was in the clipboard.

shoot.
just like when you are in word/excel and you do file > save and send

would be nice if there was a way around that

Exactly. Except  file > save and send is an even bigger PITA because if you need to go back and reference a tab or cell or look something up you can't. You have to close the mail item. It's a complete waste.

Plus you can't look at anything else in outlook until you close/send the mail item.

I have a document that contains a "pretend" table, made by tab stops. Is there any way to convert it to a regular table in Word so that I can copy it to excel?
