Revel Ride (Uber Taxi)

Williamsburg is full of Revels. Earlier today I saw 4 of them in standstill traffic on a small block between just 5 other cars. Saw a total of 11 revels on my short 5 minute commute.

I tried them yesterday, driver told me it’s extremely busy lately and wasn’t busy at all till approx a week ago. He knew why, and told me he even took advantage of the deal, but only got $100 as the deal was already half dead by the time he was notified by a passenger.

Their hub is in Williamsburg.

Todays Revel driver asked me if it was a Jewish holiday today.

Rode with Revel today from CH to EWR, the entire ride was free, and still plenty of credit left over. If you do give a tip, the tip is charged to your credit card, not your available Revel credit.

According to the driver they have somewhere between 200-220 cars and that this past weekend (Kinus) was busy nonstop and many people told him how they got it through the $400 in free codes

If you have an early morning flight, note that Revel is not currently available between 2am and 5am. At about 5:03 it allowed a ride to be requested.

Successfully got one from Penn Station to downtown today around 3:30. You can’t rely on it but keep trying.

If you need a taxi just open an account without all the promos and you'll find availability much faster, only the accounts with the promos are barely showing any availability

If this is true then it’s a scandal. They don’t have to honor the promo, but lying for goodwill by saying they’re honoring it and then having the promo accounts get different availability without any disclosure is so scammy

I'm impressed they were able to roll out this sort of software "fix" for their promo code conundrum so quickly. Unless this was planned all along?
