If only we will live to see the day after an impartial investigative commission looks into what happened leading up to that day, and on that day. I fear the truth. It won't be pretty.

I don't agree that the failures here were the same as the Yom Kippur war.

But look at the Agranat Commission and it's findings. They found Zeira and David Elazar responsible, while refusing to comment on Moshe Dayan. History seems to blame Golda Meri and Moshe Dayan more than anyone else, rejecting the Commission's conclusions.

So yes, any Commission would be written off by most people before they even started.

I'd love if you could verbalize what you think the truth you fear might be.
We all know how the army failed, in exact symmetry with the YK War.
We know how the entire political class failed, right, left, in office, out of office,.
The entire investigation, in my opinion, will most likely be an exercise in scapegoating.
The politicians will blame the army. The army will blame the political class.
Those in office will blame their predecessors. The out of office will blame their replacements.
The right will blame the left, the left will blame the right.
The secular will blame the dati and the dati will blame the chareidim, nd the kanoim will blame the zionim arurim for not letting everyone get trampled in meron on lag baomer 2023.
