Many Iranians never supported the regime in the first place, it's not comparable to Russia for many reasons.

I have no idea of the numbers, but an educated guess would probably be a 60/40% split?

I get the interesting part of giving this exact example but in what context did he say that? What significance does the death of the Iranian president have? Saying that Hashem could then make an earthquake at his funeral and taking down all the Ayatollahs and the rest of the regime gathered there at once, would have been a much better hypothetical.

From what I heard it was in the context of talking about Zionism and used it as an example of how it's really under Hashem control.
