Heating up the food doesn't really take much. But he has separate pots and pans, labeled meat/dairy and one of the other chefs (chef rami) offered to make us brekkie with what he has. Chef rami also made us tehina and hummus and an avocado salad. He has a whole side of his kitchen dedicated to kosher with a separate cutting board, knives, pots, pans, etc. And they gave us brand new cutlery to eat with as well. They'll go above and beyond for you. So far it's been "you ask, we provide" and I can't imagine that changing. If youre platinum, I'm 99.99% sure you can get him to make you what you want for breakfast for free.

You are all making me jealous. I want in on Maldives pt2. Anyone do a livaboard? Our PH ended up being very expensive due to the dives... Also seaplane ain't cheap.. plus the extra for upgrading to OWB... Saw some very nice livaboards online but wondering if anyone had an experiences with a particular brand / site?

We went scuba diving for first time ever today and it was amazing. They took us to a reef about ten minutes out and it was spectacular. Live coral with a ton of amazing colorful fish. We saw some clams as well. They have a snorkeling trip to that area as well (costs some money) but I would highly advise to go once just to see what's out there.

Do they offer under water cameras with the dives? for an extra fee?

I'm not sure if it's a suite or not but it is in the best location. It faces East so you have a great sunrise view and no other villas have a view of it. Ill explain in my TR.

The bag that had my grape juice in was flagged so they checked it at customs. I was asked "do you have alcohol in here" but when I showed them it was grape juice, they let it through.

Depending on how accommodating SR MLE is with Kosher brekkie, I'm currently torn between spending for SPG Plat on Ritz and just paying for breakfast outright.  Assuming brekkie costs $150/day/couple ($55+++ per person), then below are my calculations (assuming (i) spend on Ritz 2x category and (ii) MR can be sold outright at 1.4).  Clearly, mathematically, it's better to just outright pay, even if at the end I'll be Platinum for the next 1-2 years.  But then, the thought of paying $750 for daily fruit and perhaps an omelette is making my wallet hurt, even if it'll be fatter from doing so.  Bizarre, I know.

...and risk whoever knows what thousands and thousands of miles away from home and at the beginning of a vacation in Maldives?  Penalties can range from confiscation of wine to jail time, with a possible denial of entry into the country.

Foolishness.

More like $55++++++++++. 10% service charge, 12% GST (no clue what that means) and tip on top of that. But prob around $150/couple as you said

Bring breakfast from POM, problem solved. My bill is in the mail.

Even if a place says they have a pan/pot for kosher, I don't know how that would be halachickly OK. There's nothing stopping them from using that pot when they need it for something else.

1) The most "breakfast-like" food POM offers is like penne vodka or cherry blintzes.  The thought of that every day for 5 days is already making me nauseated.
2) To a smaller degree, there is only limited space in the cooler and on the seaplane.  Sure, it won't cost $750 more, but every extra meal takes up space and adds weight (which adds cost).

Did you ask if they'll do omelettes or other breakfast food?
There must be places that do that.
If not just make your own and double wrap, there's $750 in your pocket.

Personally I don't think I'd be comfortable unless I did that and was watching the entire process and watching the entire process sounds like it would be awkward.

That's the point I keep thinking. I can't imagine any kashrus authority allowing you to rely on their statement that these pots are kosher and are kept separate.
Don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers
