You're proving my point.
If someone wants real privacy it needs to be in the LMKL pool villa, not an OWB.

That's not the point of this whole discussion. The issue being discussed here is not one of "total privacy" from a tzniyus perspective. At that point, once you're in an OWB, the "tzniyus" issue is what it is, regardless of whether you have a pool or you're going straight into the ocean - once a woman has decided to go out onto the deck of the OWB in a bathing suit, the halachic threshold (if any) has already been crossed, pool or no pool. Rather, the only purpose of our discussion here in this thread is: if one's personal standards are, indeed, that they are comfortable heading out into the water, what benefit does a pool add more than the ocean itself (if any) that one should feel that it's worth having one? And for that, you have the reasons that I (and others) gave.

Note that when I refer to the "privacy" of your plunge pool as an advantage, I'm not talking about the halachic aspect of it - as previously mentioned, whether it's okay or not will be just as problematic for your pool or the ocean. But let's say one DOES feel comfortable with that, we move onto the next step... does the quasi-privacy of the pool enhance your enjoyment of the OWB, even if the pool is not 100% sealed off like the LMKL? I think the answer is a resounding yes. Even if it doesn't help for tzniyus, it most certainly helps from a romance/seclusion perspective.

And the point of my original statement was that ilherman shouldn't get in his mind that having a pool on an OWB will give total privacy like a pool villa will at other hotels.  Seemed like it was something worth mentioning. Nothing more, nothing less.

But what about the video cameras ;)

And will you always be underneath the water and not walking to the pool?

LMAO

I almost forgot that I was the first one on DDF to go to the Maldives.

2008/9 was a good time to travel!

I still stand by my statement. Find me a rabbi that allows a wife to go in a swim suit were other people might see here... or security cameras are around...

How much is the total with all taxes for both?
4 nights all included.
Halaveli $3,598
PH around (12.5k + $150 + $350 +$100 for the taxes and fees will be about $780.) $3,120

What are you valuating the points at?

What is the difference in transfer price?

Only question is if you can upgrade 1 night to OWB at PH and maybe they'll let you stay (most hotels let you stay if they're not sold out).  But that's risky of course. Though it saves you another $1,200 or so.

Yup. And I am not going to risk a once in a life time vacation  :)

As a DDF'er, this does not need to be "once in a lifetime".

You guys should know... I love travel, miles, hacks etc... I love helping my friends out with their travel arrangements. But...

1)I can't go on vacation with my kids, period.
2)My wife hates leaving our kids behind.

Taking this 2 factors in consideration.. This will probably be a once in a lifetime.. At least for the next few years I don't plan on taking another vacation like this.

Am I reading this wrong?

From http://loyaltytraveler.boardingarea.com:

"Hyatt Gift checks may be redeemed worldwide."

"The current 10% discount applies to both Hyatt gift cards and gift checks."
