Nothing great, best if you can wait for Noi Due to open. Coffee bean has great pastries

What's the deal with 16 Handles? Are they all under R' Mehlman and does anyone have any sources about his Kashrus?

Every Rabbi I ask says they never heard of him.

Only one location in LA is.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Any good breakfast places in the city I should know about?

I personally like Milk & Honey as a breakfast place. They have great muffins and bagels.
I am sure people here will disagree with me...

He is the same Rabbi that gives a hechsher to all the kosher Dunkin Donuts in NY
Have you asked NY rabbis about the hechsher?

ETA: Most 16 Handles locations are certified by International Kosher Council (Rabbi Zev Schwartz)

I just ate in a Manhattan restaurant that was absolutely awful.  The food was very bad and the service even worse. I went out for my wifes birthday and it ended up being a real nightmare... >:(   I really feel that I should be reimbursed(I have never done this to a restaurant before). How should I go about it? Talk to a manager? Dispute charges (if possible).

Did you speak to or email the manager? Many times, they will compensate you in same way or another. Doesn't hurt to send a quick email.

you take it up with the restaurant, the manager would be a good start, you can dispute anything, but don't think it's going to get you anywhere...

Why not send back the bad food?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.
