Ouch.

shlomo78's comment there sums up my feelings toward prime pretty well.

I have never been there, so can't speak, but I would tend not to trust a publication like that

there are a number of restaurants in the heights. Chop Chop for decent chinese and sushi, Golan for fantastic schwarma, grandmas for pizza.

Ask for the Chetzi Chetzi... if you can eat a whole laffa!  Otherwise, chop chop is a nicer sit down environment than golan

Eh, I'd go straight shwarma.

True, although the food is not nearly as good, though still above average.

I actually don't particularly like their shwarma. But everything else is amazing!
Go laffa with either shnitzel, zaide's or teriyaki.

Burgers and hot dogs are good options as well. They also have cholent and kugel on Thursday nights... late night Heights competes with BK cholent all day, but there might be a separate thread for that discussion  ;D

Was at Reserve cut today, pretty full (again), this place is thank god doing well downtowtn, though with the new milk n honey opening up we'll see if it lasts.

App: Had the Big Eye Tuna Tartar and it was really delicious.
Main: unfortunately they dont serve the "Reserve Cut" steak at lunch, only dinner (so silly, PG has it at lunch too), so i got a ribeye, and it was honestly not as good as the ribeye i made on my grill on sunday.

FYI, Reserve Cut changed the lunch special, can now get Duck Confit or a seared tuna salad for $40 with certain apps and desserts.

Why would this matter? I would think that a dairy breakfast and lunch place wouldn't have an impact on people who want meat or a steak.

Of course it matters.

Just think for yourself -- if you have 1 option, that's what you choose. However, if you have two options, there is at least a chance you'll choose the other option.

Meat or milk, more choices = less guarantee.

There are many people that work downtown, I just cant see a place like MnH affecting Reserve too much (they are just too different). I can sooner make that argument for Bravo's new burger place that is opening.

160 broadway (presumably downstairs next to Modells where old broadway cafe kosher pizza stalwart was for years).

I've been downtown for 7 years (whew), any new restaurant affects the others. i happen to be surprised at how well RC is doing, but if there is a qulity place to sit and eat and it costs 25% of the check, peeps will try it sometimes.

Its a dingy basement. Maybe they'll pick up some tourist traffic but won't affect Reserve Cut. People go there primarily because its a nice place that's not embarrassing to meet someone at.

Bravo is opening a Burger Place on Trinity Place at the end of May but it won't have seating.
