I got the VinFast deal - if anyone has  questions …
How does the car drive
Can you charge it from home
How many seats
Are you happy
How much is insurance

someone told me it takes only 18 -20 min to get it to 80%
also why bad for the battery?
some leases are for 2 years so if you are not planning on keeping it after that  it might work out
18 minutes to 80% is doable on ioniq 5 with ideal conditions
  • 350 kw charger available
  • battery temp is above 18 degrees Celsius it does have battery preconditioning but if you live close to the charger it won't have enough time to heat up. And you can't activate it when battery is below 18%

on a 2 year lease i wouldn't care so much about battery longevity but if you buy a car and fast charge it often the battery will have increased battery degradation

How does the car drive
Can you charge it from home
How many seats
Are you happy
How much is insurance
It drives like an Escalade, heavy but smooth
I charge exclusively from my home
5 seats
Happy as a backup car at this price
Insurance is normal, same as my other cars

Apparently you could pick it from a Vinfast dealer in Raleigh NC. But price does not include tax and tags
https://www.leithvinfast.com/new-vehicle-specials.htm
Plus trim still available but those are $299 plus tags and tax

but the battery is under warranty for 8-10 years for new cars correct?

It is for 10 years/100,000 miles but only up to 70%
Meaning they guarantee that car will still have 70% of original capacity. You could have a 20% degradation and not be covered

They sent me a link to a calculator that shows a whole bunch of stuff including the dealer fee. Did they do that for you too?

I'm still debating whether I should take the deal. I did a pretty basic calculation and came out with these numbers for 2 years. This is assuming a fair amount of things but I was towards the machmir side. A big assumption that I'm making is that my current 2013 car won't need any repairs. It is in excellent condition but odds are something will break in the next 2 years. I'm debating if I should do it.

Im also worried if I'll like the new car. It's an ioniq 5 (I haven't seen/been in one it). I really like my current car.

current insurance 2000
gas 2578
oil changes 240
total is 4818

electric 842 (assuming home charged)
lease (includes everything) 5248.60
insurance 4000
charger 1500
total is 11,590.60
dealer doc fees are standard, amounts vary. Read https://leasehackr.com/blog/2015/9/19/8-things-you-should-know-before-leasing-a-new-car

Is there any way to search for leasing deals online without reaching out to the individual leasing companies? Just want to see what deals are out there

Leasehackr
Jury Duty: Nothing to do there but chill and write a TR. Kinda like the beach but missing the view and ocean breeze.

Rodo.
Individual dealers have sites advertising their deals, but they're rarely available at the advertised price.

In general, I find Rodo's pricing to be significantly more than what you can really get. Leasehackr is pretty good but can come with some high broker fees.

In general, rodo is great for some easy scrolling, but might be not the most accurately pricing. Leasehackr is great for best prices but you have to do the math to make sure it's worthwhile

Yes, if your getting a 8 seater suv, it will be cramped and usually won't have full size trunk when all seats are open. I think The mazda cx 90 usually comes with 6 or 7 seats, not 8...

Unless you get a Suburban or similar, any 8 seat SUV will. be cramped for the 3rd row/cargo space.
