Yes, I sold a note 3 on Craigslist.

I had no issues. I kept the original sim and gave the buyer a new tmobile sim. He flashed it to Metro Pcs.

Well if there is a line/phone number already assigned to the sim then the buyer could use it.
You dont have to provide a sim.
If the sim is sealed in with the phone and you dont want to unseal it to remove it, i guess try call tmobile and transfer the line to a new sim.

So I have old tmobile phones and got sims from tmobile with my numbers assigned to them. Does that mean the sim that came with the Note 3 is no longer assigned to me? (pardon my ignorance I have never used gsm/sim cards before)..Thanks

A sim has a unique code 8901..... when a line of service is activated, it is pointed to a sim #.should you point your line to a different sim, the chip becomes worthless and not affiliated with your account at all. Hope this helps
