Sorry, cut off the mssgI said I "had a larger purchase I wanted to put onto this card". I also said how excited I am about the new Marriott card, with the SPG/Marriott merger blah blah...
I saw. I quoted just the part I wanted to comment on.
That's what I did.Chase has an option on the phone menu to place a travel or spend notification. For Citi, I guess you would have to call or message them for a spend notification. But for a travel notification, it's on the web site under Services > Travel Services > Manage Travel Notices. At least that's where it is if you use the same login for credit card and bank account; if you only have credit card(s), the site might still be arranged differently.
I just got an email from Citi that they created the travel notification automatically using the data they received about my travel date and destination when I paid for an airline ticket with my Citi card. Wow.
Had this same recently, thought it was a little creap, but definitely cool
I know UA/Chase has been doing this for years on the UA cards.
I never got such a notification, have you? Or is it just internal?
May have just been internal. I just remembered my boss at the time, telling me whenever he flies UA and inputs his FFN, his cards know where he is and he doesn't get fraud alerts solely due to being out of town.
I don't think that's indicative of anything.
Can I call to have a capital one card statement close within a few days, or would this prolong the current statement?
