Yes,I was told the same by a pay as you go supervisor.  He said they dont have our SS# and anyway its pay as you go so if you never have really used the phone you don't need to pay. He specifically said that these accounts won't go to collection.
I would imagine it's similar to an insurance policy, if you don't pay the premium, you don't get the service. But and insurance company can't come to collections because you haven't paid a premium. They will just cancel your coverage.

I got the same response but didn't settle for that. I HUCAed once and pushed until they removed the charges and cancelled my account.

Anyone have clearer instructions than those on the page?

How to put tomtom on an android:

There are 2 parts to install tomtom,
1.dowloading and installing the program (the .apk file, 31MB)
2.downloading and instaling the maps (7 individual downloads aprox 300MB ea, total 2GB)

APK
1. Click this link to download the APK: http://www.upl.me/Uepvn8
2. Right click the downloaded file "usv1.3" and select "Extract Files..." enter password: "android", and you will get a file called "TomTom U.S. & Canada v1.3.apk"
3. Save the apk file to a sd card, and open it on your phone with a file viewer and click to install it. (if this is your first time installing an apk you need to go to settings>security>unknown sources and select "allow instalation of apps..."

4. you should now have tomtom in your apps

Download these 7 files:

Slect all 7 downloaded files together, right click, select "Extract Files..." enter password: "android".

Open folder containing the extracted files "USCA9104963" then click the folder "TomTom U.S. & Canada Map v910.4963" and inside it you will see a folder called "tomtom".
copy this tomtom folder and paste it to the root of the SD card. (the root is the actual card, not any folders in it.)

now open tomtom on your phone and it will automatically find the maps (if not make sure you copied the "tomtom" folder to the root of the sd card.
