Check your math. Just the NeverFreeze cables were more than that.

Bad math, oops. Revising.

BOS got hammered pretty bad. The winds were worse than the snow.

Same in Brooklyn. Though based on what I see on my back porch which has some unique features that gave it more or less an even coating, look like it was about a foot. I’ll measure a little later.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

+1 on the winds (queens). My kids walked most of the way home from shul  backwards . Parts of my lawn had grass showing from being windblown.

we had exposed grass and 5 ft drifts. Driveway was a pretty consistent 30". It's a carport surrounded by walls on 3 sides. Paid a passing plow $40 to drag the snow out.

You don't have a snow blower in Boston? Or it can't handle that kind of pile?

I have one that can handle it but it's broken
I started up on Thursday to test it and it looked fine but I didn't think to try the drivetrain. Looks like a friction wheel is worn and not connecting.
Couldn't get a replacement in time
Now that I think of it, I should have just disconnected the axle and pushed it.

My rooftop snow levels range from 3'+ to entirely cleared patches here and there, was very windy indeed.

I can't tell you, as I didn't necessarily track all expenses as they were incurred. I will give you a breakdown of approximate expenses and supplies which you can price yourself.

On a 20' x 11' sidewalk I used:
  • 7 foam insulation boards (I think I actually bought those in Lowes which carries the DOW brand that is light blue, HomeDepot carries Corning which is pink)

This morning I got a clear illustration of what the insulation does. I got up around 5:30am and saw that outdoor conditions were snow. I peaked out my window and noticed that my neighbor's sidewalk started to have a white coating, while mine didn't. I wondered if my son had turned on the system, but when I looked better I saw there seemed to be some slush on my sidewalk. It was then very clear that my sidewalk must have retained some of the higher temperatures we had over Shabbos, similar to what I commonly see on the other (sunny) side of the street, resulting in more melting upon hitting the ground, and less accumulation.

I still remember the epic failure of jetblue in what's known as the v day storm - https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-jetblue-post-mortem-part-1-what-went-wrong/

I'm curios to see how this one plays out
