Understood. I'm just nervous because in the morning when we were discussing shipment he kept responding but after that nothing. Even if he didn't use Ebay shipping shouldn't he confirm that he shipped it. I know on Amazon you click confirm shipping and the buyer gets an email that it was shipped.

You can't expect anything from eBay sellers.
It takes nothing to be a seller.

You could be partially brain damaged, and still qualify as a seller.

It's a crazy system.

How many feedbacks as a seller does this guy have?

An ebay buyer is asking your opinion about another seller?

Basically I emailed seller if he has more of the item, he said yes but said he can't relist them as he's a new ebayer and I have to wait. So I offered to pay via paypal as I knew I'm protected. I paid him and never heard back since ,when calling paypal they advised that he setup the payment as a gift for friends and family . I funded it with amex.

Is this usually protected?

Either way Amex will give the other guy an opportunity to respond, and when he ignores it you should win the dispute.

But doesn't it have to always go through paypal eventually?
As i once did this and paypal ended up calling the shot.

Also will he get away with it?
