Right now? I think they shut down. But we had something similar, pretty recently. I doubt they are using top quality meat. Also to call it all you can eat, is not so accurate. They have people coming around and they give you 1 piece at a time of the varius items that they offer.

He's insinuating that when a steak costs $100 at other Miami restaurants, charging $77 for all you can eat steak is a bold strategy.

Was after a few months and after a serious kashrus violation.
Was actually very good and iirc similar pricing but yes they take their time coming around with the meat papagaio style.


Iirc when the manalapan story was breaking, many people were hesitant to say it wasn't kosher just bec it was so cheap....

To be fair, they don't claim to be all you can eat. Yes, you can technically eat as much as you want, but having waiters bring you meat one piece at a time is typical of Brazilian style steakhouses, not some ploy they are using to deprive you of steak. Still fairly underpriced, and I doubt prices won't go up soon. But they probably upcharge you for drinks and desserts. And prices can also be kept down somewhat because this style lends itself to far less waste.

Exactly. And if they aren't an all you can eat steak restaurant, then it can make sense.

2 People eating out in a steakhouse these days will set you back $250+ for 2 apps, 2 mains, and a dessert. And that's not all you can eat steak.

Food was ok
They definitely came around often with all different mean/chicken. Huge Buffet. Cocktails were 18-22 and I didn't see the dessert menu.

Actual Restaurant is huge and beautiful.

So there was more?  Oh gosh.  I’m reading a book called Unreasonable Hospitality, which made your interactions with the staff especially disturbing.

I think the poor service we often see may at least in part boil down to hiring people with little experience (I.e., cheaper labor,  but job that demands 15 years experience). I wonder what this GM’s prior work experience was.

Insofar as your legal question re recording someone in a restaurant (GM said “it’s illegal to film the kitchen” and you or your brother said “I don’t think that’s true”) - FWIW I’m a private funds lawyer, which is useless here but I’ll take a shot, nonetheless!

From my limited research (which is not legal advice), it is okay to openly video in a Florida restaurant, such as G7.  The issue is whether there is a reasonable expectation of privac (statute in below link), which I do not believe is the case given how very public a restaurant is- and how they likely encourage patrons to video and post videos of the restaurant (unless of course they disagree:)). After all the kitchen seems to be open/facing everyone, so doesn’t that tell you that they want to be seen and have no expectation of privacy?

But let me know if you or your brother at CLS disagrees!

Tough situation and you remained calm which is key.  We definitely need more reviews on Ostrow, though! I’m happy to post once I go in March.

Something is off. First booking still the 8th? Gets that much quieter on the 8th?

I had the same question. Interestingly, a day after showing there’s no reservation till the 8th, a bunch of reservations opened.

On a side note, I went to “Traditions” in Boca. The customer service was the best I ever had, 11/10, vibe was 10/10, and food was 10/10. Some must have’s are the chopped liver (request additional crackers), kishka with gravy, lava cake with ice cream, steak salad (I ate just the steak part, beyond delicious), and of course some mains and shnitzel-pastrami sandwich. Btw, manager told me the bar section will be opened for drinks in a few weeks, will be open past the current 10am closing. Dave Portney scale wouldn’t allow a 10 rating; on his scale it would score 9.2 imo
