Since hyatt sign-up nights can be used almost everywhere, which hyatt in the Caribbean would be considered the best?

Hyatt Ziva in Cancun maybe. Especially if you can somehow get yourself into the Pyramid Suite.

This is better than the hyatt zilara? Do they ever upgrade a sign-up night?

I got upgraded at the Zilara using sign up nights. Depends if you have status.

usually that means they have at least platinum status if they have signup nights.. even though platinum is worth close to nothing I have gotten plenty of upgrades due to it (not suites)

I know, but I had Diamond when I stayed there and got upgraded. So not sure what Platinum would have gotten me, if anything.

pools are better at the Zilara, Ziva is overall better. This is from feedback from numerous people who I have helped. Dont know. Do your own research I guess. Try to get into the pyramid suite at the Ziva

I just called a hotel in tri-state area that had availability on points and they opened up c & p for me. Took a few calls and it's YMMV...

Are there any base rooms available for revenue bookings? What status are you?

Sure, diamond
Call the Diamond line and have tell them that there aren't supposed to be blackout dates. If you land on the right rep, they should open a room for you. I've done it a couple times over the past few months.

I tried booking 2 rooms (award nights) and a message came up that i'm only allowed to book 1 room per night, so i made separate reservations with the exact same info, is that an issue? or is there a better way to bypass this

I know SPG has you book it this way too, makes sense. Their system is set up that way. No worries
