Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

NY people. Why?

Where was your restraint comment to the IDIOT with 18 cards???? It is not out of the realm of possibility for a person to have 3, 4, or 5 (husband and wife and a couple of children or parents) But 18... I dont even begin to know where you fathom that number.

In NY they just dont want to do it. In Miami the other day, where they looked at me with crossed eyes like "what the heck is THAT card" they wouldn't try either. Both places said they are only allowed to do 1 load transaction at a time. I guess Miami has that rule when loading GCs that need to be done in separate transactions.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Tried at two different targets in Raleigh, NC. Both times they swiped (each one at Cashier and CS) it came up as a return (??) and wouldn't work. They said their computers aren't programmed for RedCards yet. Anyone else have such a problem?

If it dies before I get to my 10k spend this month on the card oh well.
I pass by target on my way to other MS opportunities everyday anyways. I pop in load ~950 once and leave. will go back again the next day. I am in no rush to get it done. worst case... I load it with a debit card.

Tell me about it :) Are there instructions I can tell them on how to load it? They were willing to help, but when they swiped it their systems went glitchy. Thought it was a return or something

FT method no go, but I don't think it worked in beginning of January either. However 5 transactions did work, albeit with a call to barclays fraud after second transaction was initially declined.
