Again, having the "right" is not only dependent on what Google says it is allowed to do, or even what's in their T&C. It's what a Court says they can do. And despite the terms, it's hardly equitable to impose digital death on a person who made an unrelated purchase, causing massive damages to personal lives, businesses, and other irreplaceable files.

Nobody died here. It seems since it is not a lot of people affected so they are making a point here. If they are anything like PP your chance are slim to none in getting your account reinstated.

Idk if they will reinstate, but it is pretty clear in their own t&c's that all digital content belongs to the user. So they should have to allow people to remove their stuff with a warning.

I'm not sure if you're generally trying to downplay the importance of losing access to one's email, or if you simply cannot fathom what that would look and feel like because it didn't happen to you, but I can assure you, it's not a laughing matter.

I ask of those who haven't had their primary accounts disabled, sit down for five minutes (300 seconds) and think what it would mean for you to have your entire primary Google account wiped without any prior notice.

I must admit losing an email account is no big deal for me. If nothing else this should be a wake up call to those who do use email for everything. While I might joke around I know for some this is a big deal.

Once it hits the press, there's no blowing over quietly. Google has no motivation to keep it from hitting the press once it goes viral, and they may not want to be seen as having backed down; as so not to set precedent.

That makes sense if you have a negotiating partner.  In this case it doesn't seem like it's possible for anyone affected to reach someone who cares and is able to make a difference.

The logic is that once it hits the press, higherups wil notice.  Then there is at least a chance they my choose to reinstate.
