create a united gift registry.  create a goal for the registry.
add funds to the registry in increments of less than $100. using your platinum card.
get reimbursed by AMEX.

Do you get AA seat upgrade credit automatically? I use to get MPX credit 2-3 days after charge posted, it's now 6 days from when the seat upgrade charge posted and i haven't gotten the credit
