Bigger question is what will become of J and F on their existing fleet? Presumably, if they want to keep selling F, they'd need to invest in new seats and a 1-1 config.

A big TA friend of mine told me LY CEO told him HKG will be the first route, but still its just hearsay

Same here - I spoke to a senior flight attendant yesterday - he said that internally they heard that the first flight is HKG, and the second will be LAX.

So basically, HKG to compete with the CX A350 and LAX to compete with the UA 787 to SFO. No competition in NYC....

Evidently it's not the chareidim flying the NY route they're trying to woo. It's the Israeli businessmen that would otherwise fly CX, and the LA and West Coast crowd that would otherwise fly UA from SFO.

So in other words, pay the low J class price now for a flight to Newark next winter (About $3400) or book at the current award rates for business and you very likely will end up in luxury seats.
