I don't want to share the full context, but I have heard from a well-known posek a difference between contact with gloves vs no gloves.
Tell me it was a heter to circumvent negiah issues
In Israel, it is a standard that a Dr. office in a frum neighborhood has a male nurse too. Same goes for dentists. In BP at Ezra med when I schedule teeth cleaning, they ask if you want only a male. They have a male hygienist once a week.
Traditionally this has been a female job. How many male phlebotomists have you ever encountered? The tech is normally a man at this place but hes out on medical leave. How much longer do you wait for an appointment?
I'm not sure you're allowed to say anything is a female or male job anymore! No longer wait time.
Why is this useless thread in GD?
Agreed.+1LikeIt should be in the restricted area of DDF.
First off you probably know nothing about blood drawing. It is nearly impossible to tie a tourniquet with gloves. The gloves go on after the tourniquet is tied. Second you cannot palpate a vein properly in gloves either. So thats why first palpate then put on gloves and draw blood. Pay attention the next time you have blood drawn. You probably get stuck more than once or the needle is moved around once inside if they did the first steps with gloves.
This cant wait until Friday and maybe we can smoke out JTZ in his new incarnation...
Was that your intention?
Seems to have worked
If you want his input you should ask to have this thread moved to JS.

Did you actually care at the time you originally posted?
Tremendously.
