i just did a 3BM for the SPG, Mercedes plat and amex plat. it said that the system is having problems and theyll get back to me with decision within 14 days. a few min later i got an email saying the mercedes and plat are approved! and i just checked the status on SPG and it said approved!

i was not dreaming...i did see approved.
since i was out of town i didnt see the cards til now. and i see that i only got 2 plat cards (MB, Plat) and a letter stating that i was declined the SPG!!!
and it says that my FICO score as of july 31 was 747.. but they still denied it because i have too many inquiries in the past 12 months and a few other small things they write.

what i dont understand i, if i have too many inquiries then how did i get the 2 plats?

should i call recon? do i tell them that it said approved?

As far as I know and I am still learning the ropes, Amex Plat has no credit limit so you are approved right away or rejected. They don't determine your credit line as it is open for us while the SPG is based on credit worthiness and takes longer to arrive as they have to determine a credit limit for the card. Amex plat and gold arrives within 48 hours usually after applying.

Just got letter from amex i was declined for the SPG Business for  this reason

One question i want to apply for the 3 best chase cards (meaning the most rewards)with the 3bm methud which three shuld i try and the same with amex which three should i try and whan will i be able to combine does points Thanks
also i have a discover card with over $650 cash in rewards and i wanted to know if i can aply and transfer the value and get more for it meaning in travel terms

Dan, I noticed that when you make a mention of which cards have "No Forex fee" by your description of every card.
If I may suggest you add that to the Discover cards, as that has been the case with them for a few months already.
Discover does not charge any forex fee on any of their cards!

On another note, just so that you know, last I checked (yesterday) your links to the Freedom Visa, Freedom MC, and UA MPE all don't work.
You're losing out big time, as I (besides for myself (at least attempting) to use your links to sign up for CC's) send ppl your links all the time, and I make a fool out of myself as well, when the links dont work 

When I checked a week ago, BA, Sothwest, marriot, marriot premiere links were also all not working..

AFAIK Discover cards can't transfer to any other programs or airlines.  You can however redeem your rewards for GC's that are worth more value than your rewards, e.g. $20 can equal a $25 GC or similar..

I'm not sure which cards you're referring to, but the guy to whom I sent the the links yesterday, told me that by every one of them he got a Chase page with a bunch of cards to chose from (as opposed to linking directly to the CC applications).

No sir.  Perhaps they go up and go down with the sun and moon IDK, but I did just check now, the Freedom's both work, but the BA goes to "https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-card-search.aspx", -those 3 are the only ones I checked now.  So for this very moment you're correct about thr Freedom's, but not for yesterday

Applied for a sapphire preferred MC. Was toss by two separate reps that I need to close down the visa as I can't have two of the same card. Probably could've HUCA'd but not the end of the world so just closed my visa

Same here, I just called (after another HUCA) and the guy said as you mentioned above, but he also told me I "should first use the points, because once they close the Visa I'll lose all the UR points"    Any truth to that?

Yes.

But just transfer to another UR account in the interim.

Yes, if you leave points in an account that gets closed you will lose those points. You can transfer them to any other UR account and then close the account to save them.

If you see the points in your Freedom balance and you're keeping that Freedom card, what can go wrong?

Keep in mind that you won't be able to transfer your points to miles from the Freedom account, you're going to have to first transfer to SP/IB.

Right, but in no time I should hopefully have another SP, the WMC which I'm getting reconsidered for now... So I'm not concerned about transfer..

Its so funny when you get the same agents again after hanging up on them .

I also was just talking to reconsideration and after 5-10 minutes on the phone with her, I called a different recon. number (credit analyst, to take care of a diff card) and there she picks up!!  I had to hang up, was just too funny!
