The debate over gun control is never ending, not because it's so complicated that even the biggest brains can't figure out the right approach, rather because it has become a sort of religion to many. In addition, since in general the Republicans are pro guns and the Democrats are anti, what happened is that I've seen many people that because they're pro Trump, they're also all for no gun control, despite they've never seen a gun in their life just on an officers waist, and they can't even name a single type of gun. Pathetic.
I'm just catching up on this thread now. I gotta say, this is probably the dumbest comment in this thread (and that's saying
a lot)
I'm not denying that there are pro-gun people out there who are completely ignorant about guns, but where you go with that is beyond ridiculous.
1. Of all the reasons for these people to be anti gun control, you think the real reason is ... Trump? are you for real?
2. Do you really think that ignorance about guns is a bigger problem by the pro-gun crowd than it is with the anti-gun crowd?? Because it's not even close. As a general rule the pro-2A people are much
much more knowledge about guns than the anti-2A people. It's ridiculous how often you have people calling for various gun bans when they clearly haven't the slightest clue what they're talking about.
3. I would argue that being ignorant about guns is generally a far greater impediment to being anti-gun than it is to being pro-gun. I'm not sure you need to know much about guns to be supportive of the idea of the second amendment. OTOH, if you're gonna say that assault weapons (for example) need to be banned, you darn well better be able to say what an assault weapon is (and isn't.) Don't go telling me I can't have heat-seeking bullets or high capacity magazine clips.
