Does that even make sense, that all the gears and stuff would get messed up bec of a dead battery?
And did your battery need to be replaced? Like there were dead cells in your battery? Did u get it tested?
Transmission didn't shift into D only M and sounded like a truck driving in M gears. After restarting my car for the 2nd time after I charged up the battery after driving it for a bit the gears started to work again. But couldn't afford to take any more chances and drive around like that.
Went to Costco and picked up a brand new battery.
I've always gone to sears to get a die hard gold battery.
But I've discovered that Costco has higher rated batteries and for a much better price, as well as a 3 yr warranty no questions asked vs the old 2 year warranty.
So a no Brainer. Picked it up and swapped it out with the old battery. Took exactly 5-10 min and I was back up and running.
I have a dashcam installed into my cigarette port. Probably with that and the being a few years old, aside for me driving with old shocks and all which put alot of wear and tear on my battery, as well as the cold weather outside. All killed my battery. So for now I unplug it every time. If I have 10 minutes to hardwire the camera with the kit I bought on Amazon which automatically cuts it off once the battery reaches 11.7V or lower. Which will allow for me to have 24hrs worth of recording.
Though I would love to upgrade to a blackvue Dashcam. Worth the money in my opinion and you have a cloud to watch live.

Well that isolates the problem to something between the horn and your steering wheel...maybe it could be the button on your steering wheel or the horn wire in the clock spring. Over my head at that point.

Many things go through the steering column connections. You might need a wiring diagram to track it down. As mentioned, the clock spring is always suspect.

ETA: What other controls do you have on the steering wheel (cruise, radio, ect)? Are they all working?

It could be something in the column. I just had the the steering column changed about a month ago i wonder if that could be the reason for the sudden death

ETA: i dont specifically remember. Will check in the AM

The airbag wiring also has to run through the clock spring. @elazarmn did your airbag light also come on?

All brake lights stopped working in one shot, is it a witch/fuse, or possibly just the bulbs? Something I can do myself?

Had to get my car jumped and ever since then the driver seat and telescoping steering column don't work. Mechanic says that fuses are fine and both motors need to be replaced. Does that make sense?

He also didn't charge for diagnostic so I don't think he delved too deeply
Fixed the problem. Removed all the potential blown fuses (none were actually blown) and put them back in. Not sure what the actual problem was though.

Life lesson though, if a mechanic tells you that he's not charging you for the diagnostic it means he didn't actually do the diagnostic.

Could be the bulb but odd both sides would go out at once.
Some brake light bulbs use the same filament as turn signal. Would you know if your vehicle does?
If it does then your bulbs are OK.

Does the center brake light work?

I've had both reverse lights die at once. I was shocked that it was actually the bulbs, because I had also assumed it was something else.

So I tried the car again, the rear red lights come on, but no extra lights when I press the brakes (nor does the top brake light come on). I stopped by a mechanic, and he said it  must be the brake switch. He wanted $60 for the part and labor. I said no than you, and I got the switch from auto zone for 13 dollars, and swapped them, but doesn't seem to fix the issue.
I checked fuse 23 (small lights) and the fuse for stop and horn, both are good.
What else can it be?

It could be a connection.
You could have tested the brake switch by engaging the cruise control, then hitting the brake and see if it disengages right away.
I would still check the brake switch/circuit since it is simple to do.

My horn stopped working on my 2010 camry. Has anyone else had this experience with a DIY fix?
Find where your horn is. Unplug it and take a multi meter and put one end on a bare piece of metal and the other end into the wire clip from the horn. Now have the multi meter set to DC V and have someone honk the horn. See if you get 12v . If you do the horn is broken if you don't then there's a loose connection someone from the button on the steering wheel to the horn. You'll need to play around.

When you click the horn you should feel the relay under the hood click. Of that doesn't happen either than my guess is something is up with the steering wheel.
 Good luck.

Even the 3rd brake light doesn't bother to turn on?
Basics would be, fuses, Bulbs, relays.
And make sure no wiring came apart by your feet. Next step would be to check with a multi meter if you're getting 12v when you click on the brake pedal by the wiring harness when you disconnect the electric connection and follow what I wrote above. That will tell you if there's something wrong at the brake peddle end vs the brake lights and bulbs.
