Barclay reconsideration line: 866-408-4064, Mon-Fri 8AM - 5PM EST.
The 24-hour number is 866-408-4064
New 24 hour number is 866-205-5973
you can finally fax documents to Barclays the number is 866-836-6959

Based on the phone reps, an application usually remains in the system for 90 days, during which you can ask for a reconsideration.
However, if 30 days have passed, it will incur another hard pull.

There have been a few reports of Barclay pulling credit again when reconsidering - even when specifically asked not to.
Make sure to explicitly tell the rep that you don't want another credit pull. The benefit of such action would be that if later you see they did pull your credit you can call up and speak to a manager and have the pulls removed (based on first-hand accounts from this thread).

If you want to guarantee that you don't get another pull, freeze your credit report.

While Barclay recon reps are usually very tough to deal with, there have been sporadic reports of them reconsidering by reallocating credit-line from other cards. Additionally, there are a few reports indicating success with the 3BM.
Personal and biz didn't combine

Barclay recon reps take notes of each phone call and subsequent reps usually regurgitate the previous rep's reply.

Barclays has a 6/24 rule similar to chase 5/24. Not hardcoded like chase though.

Not letting me downgrade to non AF version only to non AF Arrival. HUH?!

You're lucky - they won't approve you if you have the no fee usair - only if you downgrade to arrival nf.

Easiest recon ever.  2BM'ed Arrival+ and US Airways.  Approved for US Airways immediately, pending with Arrival+.  Called recon, gave my info and before I even say anything she said well we already approved you for the US Airways for $12,500, how about we just move over $5,000 for the Arrival+?  I said ok, she said great it's approved expect your card and welcome packet in 7-10 days.  Call took less than 3 minutes.
Same here basically. Never had barclay before. was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was considering some of the posts about barclay recon.

There is a no-fee US Air card?   I got a US Air card last year and never got hit with a fee it seems, but I thought it was just a mistake.  Called today to cancel and was told they would waive the fee if I keep the card.  Also told me I am eligible for a 10K mileage bonus on my anniversary date and companion awards.  Do I have the no-fee card? How do you know which is which?

As far as I know, there is no card with no AF. I applied around March for a card that offered 35k bonus points for $1 spend with AF waived for first year.

-1. There is a US card (I think it's called US rewards card) with no AF and it earns one mile for every $2 spent.
I try my best :-\

So that must be what I got.  Forgot that there was a waiver of the 1st year fee (if I ever realized that).  I did get the 35k bonus miles.  So that explains it.  Thanks.

I opened a USairways card in august and mistakenly downgraded to the no fee USaiways card. I called last week to upgrade and they said  I would need to apply for a new card. I applied and got rejected, and on the reconsideration line they said they cannot approve more then one of the same card. Should I close the downgraded card and then call for recon again?bb

Yes. No guarantee you'll get it, but at least you'll have a chance. My reason was I closed it but found out they're merging with aa and I love aa, but hate usair, so I closed it but now I want it. You can say you found out they're merging so you want the upgrade, but a recon rep told you you'd have to close to get it, so you did. Could work. My general experience with recon is like dmv testers - men are much easier going than women. Might be worth it to hang up on women till you get a man.

I never hang up... I've been pleasantly surprised by reps I doubted quite a few times. Imho it's really just huca. Depends on who you get and what mood they are in and how good you are at schmoozing.
My 1.5 cents

My wife got declined for the US Airways card because of too many new accounts (Chase 3BM) and not a long enough credit history.
No current cards with Barclays. Any ideas of what to say. I cant get them to budge.

Nothing to do about it, having weird policies and being stubborn is their way of doing business.
