I applied for the SPF personal and business card on March 2nd. I checked my credit report and it shows 2 inquires 1 on March 2nd and 2nd on March 3rd. i called first Experian they advised the only one who can remove it is Amex. i called amex and was transferred from one department to another and no success there. tried to Huca that didn't help either.. Any one with other ideas on how to get the 2 pulls merged?

huca experian

Experian, i just said there should only be one pull on my report and i would like to dispute the second, they told me i should take it up with Amex. For Amex, i said that a rep told me it will be one pull if applied the same day, they didnt buy it. Any advise on what to tell Experian or what number to call?

That's word for word to Experian? Because it sounds like you said I applied for x amount of cards but should only get y amount of pulls.

My first AF posted. Any tips or ideas what I should I do? Any good retention offers? Also will I still have any coverage for items I bought while having my card? TIA

Just got hit with my AF. My wife has both the personal and business SPG cards so its not worth it for me to keep it. I cant transfer my CL since i dont have any other open AMEX cards. Has anyone had success getting a retention bonus on a SPG card? If yes what was it?
Also Im seeing differing reports on being able to downgrade the card in case I cant get a retention bonus. What would be the best card to downgrade to with no Annual fee?

TIA

Open up a new Amex card and transfer balance to that card. If you don't want to open a card right now, you can wait till you are ready, Amex prorates the annual fee.

I hear that. Whats the best one to open. I have never had any other AMEX cards besides the SPG one.
I will try to get a retention bonus but even if they want to give me 1500 points its probably not worth the fee

+1
Yes, as long as you have the ability to earn SPG points under your name, then it's probably smart to cancel the original. It's the card that I spend the most on.

spoke to AMEX today. They said that right now they dont see any retention bonus offers for me but that I could downgrade into ANY other AMEX card "pending approval" I asked him if this was a hard pull. he wasnt 100% sure but he didnt think so. Has anyone heard this/knows what he means?
