Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I used the milagex app it's been a week should I call in

No, don't bother.

You should do research to see if it works before making the transaction. MPX doesn't code as airline on Visa and MasterCard.

I want my mom to apply for CSR and thought she was way over 5/24. When I checked her CK history, she's right at 6/24, but 2 of those are store cards. One is Home Depot CBNA, the other is TD Bank Target (11/2014). The Target one falls off next month, the other 5 cards are from 2016. I remember reading that the store-related credit cards don't count against 5/24, is this confirmed? If so, I would still want the Target one to fall off. I don't know the exact date, just that she applied in November 2014. Does this one fall off 5/24 on November 1? December 1? Or the exact date she applied?

I have a SP payment coming due that I would like to pay with my CSR since it will hit the minimum. The issue is that the service provider only accepts checks. I called and was told that the card does not qualify for checks and upon further review of the terms it doesn't appear as though that would count towards the minimum anyway. Should I HUCA or could I use radpad even though it isn't a lease or mortgage? Thoughts?

Likely the wrong place for this and if so, apologies in advance.

Had my coworker(s) signup for the Reserve and 1 of them just got her bonus. She is flying to San Fran and wants to use the points to book hotel stay via UR portal at St Regis week of the 25th. Cost for 2 nights is roughly 71,000 points (hotel goes for about $550 per night). I am no maven and figured at 1.5 per point the value was not bad. Her flights are being taken care of via work she just need to pay for the hotel. Was this advice decent?

Why would you want to apply by phone?

Exactly, why would you do that? Especially if you were planning on upgrading back in January.

I feel like they would probably charge you the fee then...

Still a really stupid idea, just take your $150 and 100k points and be happy. There are easier ways of making $300 without risking 100k points.

I mean re-charge. I'd think there would be language somewhere saying that if you dg for a refund and then ug within a certain amount of time they'll charge retroactively. So in January, he'd be charged $900.
