amex told me that they were re imbursing ppl who used mastercards on sbs at stores that were on last yrs sbs list but list wasnt updated ans some stores didnt take amex so ppl used mc and amex reimbursed them 25$

If I understand what he's saying - amex will give you a $25 statement credit on your amex account for supporting a small business with your MC/visa.

sry was in a rush. basically, i called amex bec my bill came and i didnt recieve my 25$ credit, the rep told me not to worry bec amex is being very lenient with the sbs promo, and if i dont see the credit within 2 billing cycles i should call back and amex will give me the credit, he went onto to say how they were being vry giving, that some customers had went to sites/stores via the shop small list and tried to use their amex's, but these site/stores werent taking amex, so ppl used mc's, and they called amex to complain and amex gave them 25$ credit on their amex bill. this is what the rep told me... Kapeesh?

Once you have them you have them. The odds you'll be F/Rd are much less now than if you'd cancel and re-ask for the AUs again next year.

That's true, however it's a gold card and I don't want to pay the annual fee after the first year (for the card and 1 AU).

So add more AUs, and let the annual fee be paid for by SBS, Gift Chain, Big Break, etc...

And if it's only one AU... What were you so worried about in your original question, anyway? You made it sound like there were a whole bunch...

I got 15 cards after sat night and I had 8 on sat night.
According to THIS math, I would have $200 gift card (which I have) $375 cash (but I only got $300 so far)

ETA: just woke up to a message in my american express inbox that they are giving me the full $125 for my last 5 cards making the total
$425 cash. (for 15 cards)

Makes sense to me now.  Didn't know you have 15 cards.

SBS I will start again next year. Pardon my ignorance, what is  Gift Chain, Big Break?                             

The annual fee is for 1AU(The rest are free). I got dozens of AU's.

i dont see it as that unlikely.  While it is the exception.  I know lots of people who had between 10-20 cards.  I dont see 10 Million cards as such a stretch

In 2010 the limit was 100K. You think they have multiplied the program by 100 in two years?
Plus they write the whole thing off, so subtract 40% off the real total
