Look at the logarithmic chart, it took Italy 8 days to go from 10 to 100, and 8 days from 100 to 1000. It took the US 13 days to go from 10 to 100, and we're on day 3 of the trajectory from 100 to 1000. I am not trying to downplay the seriousness, I'm just trying to get to find the facts. There are enough people showing the worst case scenario that I don't need to.
Why is doing better than the county with the most known deaths such a big thing? Keep in mind that Italy is Moore comparable to NY metro than the US
Just because things turned out a certain way doesn't mean you were right.

how real is the second wave of reinfection and what does that mean for the rest of the year? will we all be at risk again of being reinfected?

From what I've seen, there is shaky evidence of reinfection, and it may have been due to faulty test or not completely recovering before the second test is administered.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Not one metric is valid if it includes the numbers from China. Can we say that out loud already?

Right because all those people would have died anyway in the week since they contracted the virus.

ok so deduct the amount of deaths reported per week, and you have an accurate number.
500+ deaths a day, is just crazy.

if you consider that NY stats has so far shown that the average age of those contracting the virus is significantly younger, hopefully that would mean a lower death rate.

Also, looking for statistics on percent of tests that result is positives (from a real news source)

luckily we had a pretty good heads up. and from the close circles I know, the older ppl are all locked in thier homes.
the older people here are taking things pretty seriously.
