"NY will provide Summer P-EBT of $375 to all children enrolled in the lunch program. This benefit will also be available to children under 6 residing in a SNAP household (even if they are not enrolled in school), as well as children registering through September 3, 2021 for summer lunch programs. OTDA hopes to start issuing these benefits to existing P-EBT cards sometime in September."
@cgr is this for all children, even if the school was open?
Yes, if they're enrolled in the lunch program. This is a one-time summer allotment.
School year P-EBT is only for children whose schools were closed or had remote learning.
NJ's plan is pretty similar to NY, and they'll also being doing $375 for Summer P-EBT for all lunch-program children.
Both NY and NJ are also doing Childcare P-EBT which means that all children under age 6 residing in a SNAP household will get School Year P-EBT even if their school was not closed/remote, and even if the child is not enrolled in school at all.
