Only going back to FDR is "Hindsight Criteria"
The Democratic Party as it is today can’t be traced back further than FDR. But u do make a good point.

DJT out. I view him as the biggest threat to the USA right now, greater than Iran, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Russia. He's corroding the foundations from within.
And Putin agrees with me. That's why he put him there.
I don't see how anyone can say it's the Republicans corroding the foundation when the democratic party is literally fighting for socialism.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

The polls adjusted their standards since 2016. You follow that too closely. Biden's gonna win, your brain is overweighing a once in a lifetime 2016 fluke. The polls are steady for months already.

BTW, the national polls were actually very accurate in 2016.

I agree. But actually the biggest evidence that the polls are correct is that they are not steady, the gap widened considerably in Biden's favor since Covid-19.

The funny thing is that for all the big talkers I meet in the frum community, preaching how Trump's gonna win, and saying "fake polls" etc. Not one is willing to take my serious offer for a 10,000 dollar bet, not one.

Also, do you expect people to risk $10k (and there is some risk regardless of how sure they are) to prove something to a stranger online?

I'm planning to put money on Trump  winning just for the point of it (not big bucks).  I really believe in the silent majority.   Trump supporters are terrorized in workplaces etc if they mention they support Trump. Voting in private is differently

Is that true regarding the the polls 30 days out?

The 2016 polls had Trump leading in Florida & Ohio. It's very different this time. He has no chance.

There is no objective way to gauge how accurate they were had the election been held then. How things changed over the next month can go either way and if it was reflected in the polls then we should assume they are accurate. Either way, the polls now show Trump worse off than he was in 2016

Right, but that's true this year too. Many people (and it doesn't seem like you are one of them) argue that because the final polls in 2016 were almost right, Trump has no chance 2020 based on the current polls.

There is the fact that these numbers are despite him being the incumbent, and they have baked in the fact that he previously won.

Again, my only tainoh is on those who say the fact that the final polls in 2016 were close means that Trump has no chance in 2020.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would not participate in the second televised debate with Democratic nominee Joe Biden next week after the commission responsible for producing the forums announced that it will be conducted virtually.

“I’m not going to waste my time on virtual debate. That’s not what debating is all about,” Trump said in an interview on Fox Business. “You sit behind a computer and do a debate. It’s ridiculous, and then they cut you off whenever they want.”

The remarks from Trump came shortly after the Commission on Presidential Debates revealed Thursday morning that the town hall-style event on Oct. 15 would feature the two candidates participating “from separate remote locations.”

Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien reaffirmed the president’s position in a statement Thursday, saying Trump will “pass on this sad excuse to bail out Joe Biden and do a rally instead.”

So the debate wasn't the yeshua they naively hoped it would be?
