It did not work, i chose a phone number from the list they offered me and it gave me an error. It didn't even let me put in my phone # to verify.

I'm missing two important features in the new Google Voice android app
1) Mark as unread
2) option to turn off the roaming guard

@etech0e its probably because you used a number that was used already too much times to activate Google voice numbers
no way really to fix this best way is just to open a new account
did find on goodle a way to override it just Google it.

What's the best method to ALWAYS display GV# when placing outgoing calls on iphone ?

If you are using Sprint you can have them link your sprint phone number to your google voice number instead. All your outgoing calls would go thru GV and you will recieve incoming calls from both numbers. same applies to text msgs.
You can set this up on your GV account.
I heard Tmobile and verizon have a similar feature but i'm not sure how it works.

This looks like a third party app you would have to use to dial out. What i'm using is directly linked to my phone number and is set up on your official GV account settings.
