This has become way too complicated
I think it can be explained simply, as lurker did earlier. I'll sum it up:
1. The entire DDF are the "backers," and any donation here, even an insignificant one, will be added to the amount that will be doubled. (DDFers can post here and add to wiki)
2. Once we get the backed amount to a good point (or when Dan finishes writing up his DDMS post), there will be a DDMS post that will say "All donations here up to x dollars will be doubled."
3. People who see DDMS but not DDF will donate, hopefully to meet or exceed the amount we have ready as "backing funds."
4. DDFers who pledged will donate their money as backers.
The only complicated thing I see is that two DDFers already donated on a different platform. The jury can decide if those funds should be treated as donations and backed with "backer funds", should they be treated as non DDMS donations and not backed, or if they can somehow be retroactively (and ethically) be considered "backing funds" and increase the DDF tally.
Any questions?
