I bought it and I got it to work on my daughter's new laptop. The process is a bit circuitous, as you have to buy the Groupon, go to the website, enter in the code from the Groupon, submit it, and then wait for an email that has the actual product key (it took under an hour to get the email). You also have to uninstall any prior version of office to be able to download it.

I tend to be pretty tech savvy so it wasn't an issue for me, but I can see someone not being tech savvy having a harder time installing it.

You download the product directly from Microsoft. They all give the same link. All they supply is the activation key

Hmmm, what makes you say that? Assuming that you download the software from Microsoft, and the product key works, what about it is unethical? Sure, I don't know how they are getting these codes, but are you suggesting the codes are not really authentic? Maybe they were bought as part of a huge batch of licenses for businesses, and they were never used. It seems unlikely that groupon would be selling fabricated license keys, no?

They are called grey-market, not black-market, for a reason. Genuine keys being sold in a way that Microsoft did not intend yet cannot stop. The only nafka minah between this and cracked software is that cracked software can theoretically be shut down by Microsoft, but this cannot.
