The best thing I've ever done is buy exercise equipment (I live in Lakewood). I wouldn't exercise otherwise - having equipment in my house takes away the friction. And it's not short lived - I've been using them for almost 4 years.

Truck rental closing. As per my friend, (I haven't done it yet) he rented it 7ish (truck rental closes 8, store at 10), went to a city about an hour away to pick up some furniture from yad shniya, (another frugality tip) returned it at 6 am and it was only $30

just called my local home Depot they said this is not the case do they have this in writing somewhere
