Excuse me? Since when does one have to pay membership to be a Lubavitcher? Or are you suggesting that 770 is just another Crown Heights community shul?
What happened when the Rebbe wanted to print המשך תער"ב?
No one has to pay membership to be a Lubavitcher. Just ask
@aygart.
But in order to have a say in the management of the Shul, it is only right that it should be members only (and probably the proper legal way to do things). This might not fit with Communist dogma/ideology, but this is the way things work in the USA.
IMHO part of what put us in the current mess is the fact that all members of the Crown Heights community were allowed to vote, regardless of whether they daven or contribute anything to the shul.
And what reason do you have to believe that when this excuse is taken away they won't come up with another one?
Who are "they", and who will "they" present the excuse to?
