does anyone have expirience with this? i was told by the agent that it should work, however the reception told me they would not accept the cert if under someone else's name. will it help if i add the recipient of the certificate as additional guest?

Just call HHonors and they'll put the cert in anybody's name you want.

In all other Hotel programs that I have used you put the owner of the cert and the guest that you are giving the room and it works.

When I let someone use my cert. I tell them my name and I say the name of the person that is staying in the room. They do not ask who is the main usually.

Staying there for Shabbat night dinner. It costs
$110. Is that a right price ( I am a diamond member)
If someone ate there recently, pls let me know what
They served for dinner? How was your
Experience? And is this the price you paid?

Food it top
Service for shabbat was better
the hotels service is not what you would expect from a Waldorf but it's in line with your friendly neighbors in Israel.....

+1 not the very best service but they tried and I actually thought the $110 was totally reasonable since it was all inclusive of numerous courses (sit down, not buffet like other hotels), unlimited drinks and wine and gratuity.  I think we would have paid more for all we ate and drank if we ordered it ala carte at a restaurant.

What about the lunch?

Decided not to pay for lunch as we had a late breakfast where we made kiddush, etc.  Although we did a Shavuos night meal that was buffet that was also lovely.  They also have a limited room service menu available.

So you didn't eat meat Shabbos day or you had your own stuff in a fridge in your room?

I personally was fine not to eat meat as we were stuffed from the meal the night before and having a huge Shavuot meal that night.  I could have ordered meat sandwhiches, etc. off the room service menu but didn't want it and we got dairy in the afternoon.

Lunch is a heavy meal

Maybe pick up something from machane Yehuda

Or bring a doggie bag from the night before
