That seems high.
I would say that's about right, if not on the low side

just started building my credit, I know the basics and already have a chase slate and a secured cc from capital one.

I would like to start upping my credit line and building my credit using the 3bm to get cards. What would be a good first 'set' to apply for?

    Thanks In Advanced

How long is your credit history?

Most importantly, how long is your history with Chase?

If I were you I'd do a 3BM with Chase. BA, SP, and MPE, maybe?

I keep on being mailed these new card bonus offers from Amex but it says in the fine print that any purchases of cash equivalents (i.e. prepaid gift cards) will not get me points or help me for the bonus. Does anyone know what really ends up happening?

Yes. What really ends up happening is that they give you the points.

That's the beauty of a 3bm. Same credit pull as a single app

my cc is less than 720, I don't see myself being approved for any of those individually or together.
Also I'd rather save sp and that kind of card for when I can get more points for it.

Credit score isn't the only factor. A lot depends on length of history, account delinquency or lack thereof etc. Maybe try one (BA) and see if you get approved instantly, and take it from there. You can also transfer credit from your Slate to get one (or two, depending how much your CL is) cards approved.
