Never got box of chocolates as a gold. If not the 16th floor try the 15th as thats also the new renovated floor.

Yes, you might want to verify w/ the hotel directly if they will honor it...let us know as there are alot of dates open past 1/1/12!

Not good advice!!
WHY CALL?? let's say its a glitch, calling will ruin it! You have a reservation, they will give it to you. If not trust me, you can pay for it over there, and will get reimbursed from Starwood afterwards. [@YudiG please do not speak to them directly about it, this weekend- I need my January reservations.]

It's a tiny parking lot. It's always hard to find good parking there, doesn't mean the place is full.

+1...ended up parking on some dirt field that the hotel seemed to convert/annex

seems like there is a convention here...besides for all the Mir guys trying to blend in with their Aeropostle or Abercrombie sweatshirts....

I was there last week and got upgraded to a nice suite with a balcony overlooking the water. Not bad for 3K points

didn't happen this week as the place is jammed beyond belief....tnuva has a conference here and it's mobbed...the view isn't too terrible and for a category 1 the room is decent

ok guys great news here it turns out i just spoke a hotel rep there and she told me that they will be staying with starwoods thru 2012 this is great news for mir guys again

Great! My wife was just there, and she was upgraded to a suite w/o even asking.

For all those staying for shabbat, don't forget to request a shabbat key beforehand.
You typically need to ask, or else they won't offer it.

i didnt find that to be the case.
anyways, its worthwhile to point out, they starting hanging a big sign near the front desk saying that check out on shabbos is at 2pm. additionally, on many rooms they left papers stating the same as well as mentioning there would be an automatic $100 charge for anyone staying in their room past 2. however, this was not the case, and after checking out about an hour after shkiya, they made no mention of this fee
