"I can't imagine", "Israel", and "rental car" should never be used in the same post. Last time I rented, my total didn't equal the rate I was quoted, the guy told me they charge $3 a day WMC insurance (he totally made it up on the spot, but that's sort of my point)
Something to keep in mind when renting, even in the US. Reps get commission on insurance sold. Since all rental card companies have their cars fully insured, the insurance charge is pure profit, so they offer heavy incentives to their agents. I was once in the back office of an enterprise location, and there was a huge board, like the sales bored at car dealerships, with each employees name and how many "policies" they sold that week (or month?). So they may bend the truth a little to get the extra commission.
