No but it's a unofficial courtesy (there aren't enough spots otherwise) and they may help with the ticket.

Long shot, but does anyone have a muni meter receipt covering December 13 at 1:00pm?
I got to my car with the receipt just as the meter maid was issuing a ticket. She walked away, so I assumed she hadn’t issued a ticket. Now when I checked my tickets I see that she did issue one.

You could have bought a ticket? 5 min grace period?

You can fight it because it says on the ticket that if the driver was present I handed it to him.
Say you were by the car and she didn't hand it to you.
I know someone who won a parking ticket this way, he described the meter maid to the judge.

I did buy a ticket but I didn’t save it because I didn’t think the ticket went through.

Thanks I’ll try that if I don’t get a receipt.

That sucks? You don't have like 100s of muni meter receipts on your dash?

Heard a story from someone that someone he knows has tons of muni meter receipts on the dash so the meter maids never give him a ticket. Unverified.

Dont think its legal to keep expired receipts on the dash, saw it somewhere on their website when i was fishing around for a loophole for meter tickets and it not being visible

Back in the day when I drove a commercial van in the city, I was allowed to have an expired meter receipt (up to 4 hours after expiration). Even so, I got usually paid for at least 1 meter receipt every day and cleaned off my dash every few months.
If I was ticketed, I would just give the ticket with the meter receipt to the office and they would get rid of the ticket - they had a deal with the city.
I got many tickets for expired meter - which didn't really matter to me - but my point is that they will give expired meter tickets even if your dashboard is covered in them.

ticket says no registration which is not true it was curled up both sides (ends) and not fully attached to the windshield, any ideas how to fight that?

send in active registration showing it was active at time of issuance

Can traffic cop in nyc give a parking ticket from far away or they need to come up to your vehicle, I believe they need registration expiration but can they automatically look that up from plate number?

If your in the vehicle they need to hand the ticket to you.
