NYC parking fines

Friend got a ticket and was wondering if he had any valid defense. Any help is appreciated. Also a lot of ppl were parked there so sign was definitely misleading...

IME the only chance of getting it dismissed is using the services that charge half the cost of the ticket (see wiki). This sign states pretty clearly that parking is not allowed. I doubt he would get it dismissed by disputing on his own.

If temps are clearly displayed you will get all the tickets. I have temps and have not gotten a ticket in a year.

Dont they expire after about a month? My current temps are in my windshield and partially blocked by the wiper. you can still make out what the numbers are if you eliminate all other possibilities. (I am not really willing to test it out)

You will get a ticket. I've learnt on my last car, the cameras are very good. Partially blocked and you will get tickets.

My temps expired in august (or sept) of 2020. Havent checked in a while. However,

He was parked there on a sunday. I dont understand why the sign has no standing mon-fri and truck loading all times.

No standing mon-fri at those times for the trucks that are allowed to unload at other times.

on this nasty ticket." Which I found to be quite interesting...

I know this may be obvious, but try to see if the person made a mistake when writing ticket. Just happened with my sister, guy wrote that she was in front of a completely different address.

The ticket quoted "No standing except trucks loading and unloading", from 4-06(k)(2), which refers to this sign:

You had a "No Standing" sign, which did not apply and a “Truck Loading Only” which actually is also mentioned in 4-06(k)(2), but that is not what the ticket was for.

They are allowed to ticket its a courtesy that they don't. 
You probably parked on a school block, on a school block you don't double park during alt side.

nopes. parked on a typical boro park street...no school there...doing this since I own a vehicle...never ever received a ticket...outrageous

On blocks with schools or Bus routes, courtesy are not given. Or if you just annoyed the cop, like making swerve a little.

its possible that it was a out of area cop that didn't check if alt side was in affect. I got a ticket for having a bumper cover and it was a OOT cop because the locals never give tickets for that and a local cop looked my ticket and told me the from the ID it wasn't local  ( i fought that ticket because it didn't specify the violation correctly)
