For ten years he (Sopel) remained silent. Now he says everyone knew right away.
What did they know right away? Did they know there was allegations of misconduct? If so, so what.
Did they know what "all" the allegations were or how serious they were?
Toews says he knew about it the following training camp as others have said. You seem to be hung up on when they knew. It doesn't matter because there was nothing any player could have done at that time. The important issue is management knew at that time.
Again, Beach finally tried in 2021 to get some justice for Aldrich and expose the team management involved in the cover up. He was laughed at, ridiculed and shot down. How can such a scandal happen with no witnesses when the victim is claiming tons of people knew about it? Then a couple players like Sopel gave the story legs when it was needed and helped expose the issue.
I said before - it wasn’t the teammates responsibility to speak up back then, it was managements issue. But in 2021, when Beach is exposing managements mistakes, and management claims the story is fake - there were never any sexual assault claims buried, you’d expect the players to help confirm that Beach’s claims are not something new. First toews claims he didn’t know anything at all and now he supposedly knew about it for 10 years yet still was complicit in the coverup in 2021.
