Wait 2 years from applying for CCs to apply for a mortgage? I've never heard that before, only 6 months.

I'm sorry. I meant having a hard pull in the past 2 years, - but more than 6 months ago, - from what I understand, would actually benefit you. That being the case, if you don't have any hard pulls on your report (from the past 2 years), it might help you to get a hard pull in now.

This is based on some research I've done over the past 2 days - a lot of reading over a few sites, so I can't quote a source. I know this may not be helpful to some, because I'm not actually giving an answer, but I am saying to look into that specific aspect.

You can only cancel by phone (not online the way I signed up) and only by day when the call center is open (again not the way I signed up at night). She needed everything from my ss to my address.
The lady was very yenti with all kinds of questions when I told her I was closing the account. I told her nothing but I hope they don't trap people into long term deals by the answers they give. (Like the 3 month lock in:))

Last week it wasn't possible, when you hit cancel a window popped up saying you had to call.

Not when I tried, there was no online option, and there where a whole bunch of pop ups telling me to call. I think they gave up with trying to lock you in with all the calls to cancel and just allowed the online option.

I think its my parents Citi Thankyou card with a CL of <1k.
I signed on probably about 3 years ago.

Does Anyone have a number for the credit bureau? I need to try and get something taken off my credit report.

I find it amazing my Starwood card has my birth year as a member since I think that year was my dads first card and later I was on that account I'm not really sure but it def helps me out and I'm not complaining!
