Once the account is closed the sm function is disabled. You can't even read the past sm's that they sent you.
Only if it's your only amex card.

I have other Amex cards but the online access is separate, which is what you mean I am sure. I kept it separate due to my gold plat 2bm.

I had a gold and plat on one online account. Closed the plat via sm. Was able to read the respons . My wife only had plat and I wasn't able.

I sent an sm to Amex to close the plat and send me a 450 dollar check. They closed the account but I have no clue what is with my refund because although they kindly responded with an sm it wasn't possible to read it as they closed the account.
Read the wiki, it explains exactly how to request the refund.

 Did you spend the 3000 dollars besides the 200 dollars for incidentals?
And besides for the Global Entry?

I have the same thing, I called three times they kept on saying 6-8 weeks. The difference is that I currently have the gold card so I took the logs of the calls and in 6-8 weeks gonna try to demand the points

just cancelled one of my plat cards. i signed up on dec 27th and i cancelled today, less than 60 days...so why i am being charged one months worth? Does this make sense?

also the way the supervisor sounded, that he might feel like taking my points away. he didnt say it out, but he said, ''wow ur closing your card, you know you have made over 1500$ and got the airline credit?! you have all those points, why not pay the AF with the points...im not sure how you even got those points..... ''

<snippy supervisor anecdote>

Next time cancel via SM.  No need to deal with supervisors.   No idea about AF.  I canceled about 80 days after opening, but within 60 days of posting fee and got full AF refunded (along with some airline credit).

I did also get snail mails from AmEx saying that I was going to get a check for the credit, but that they would further investigate to make sure there wasn't any accounting issues.  A little worrisome since the airline credit was via PGGM. Hopefully that's just standard speak and nothing to worry about.
