I would stay away from Robinhood and other investor apps and stick to established brokerages. I believe Fidelity has a $50 or $100 SUB.
Or according to @niebloomj VTI is preferred
Which Mutual Fund (on Schwab) best mimmicks the S&P 500?
Does anyone know about Robinhood are they good, it sounds pretty simple to invest on their platform, but I'm new to this whole thing, I just want to put away some money for my kids to marry them.Any advice is highly appreciated.
I'm making sure I understand correctly is this what I should do?
I would stay away from Robinhood
For the reason of?
Very honestly, I think you may be better off with a flat fee adviser to help you
Why? People who aren't savvy I get it. But it's good to do your own research.
would you be able to help me?
I use vanguard and can help with that. There lots of knowledge people around here that can help as well. Are you looking to put in s&p 500 or a VTI?
s&p
Looks correct to me.
thank you.
If you’re trying to buy SPY that’s what you’ll be doing. If you want to buy FXAIX search for that.
What do you think is better for the long term? It looks like FXAIX is newer, no?
It’s extremely similar. There are slight benefits of buying one over the other. One is an ETF that’s tracking the S&P and the other is a mutual fund that is tracking the S&P. The fact that one is newer means that the mutual fund was created after SPY was created.
