Planning on spending 3 nights in Monte Carlo. Has anyone stayed in either the Fairmont or Meridian there?

We were in Nice for Shabbat (in a rental apartment) 2 years ago and really enjoyed it. Felt more 'authentic' than Cannes, as there is a local community. They do Friday night dinner at Chabad restaurant for reasonable charge.
The range and quality of restaurants is better there than elsewhere, can't speak to hechshers as I eat non-Glatt and non-CY (shoot me if you will!)

Thanks for the info. We won’t be staying over Shabbos so that’s not an issue. The friends we are going with are very set on staying in Monte Carlo so I was just wondering about these 2 hotels specifically.

Just went through the thread, collected the activities and added them to the wiki. However, there doesn't seem to be much to do - lots of food, rocky beaches and mostly just seeing the pretty views and towns. Any more concrete activities other than Monaco Palace and Monaco Aquarium?

Is it worth it to go just for 3 days? I'd stay in the JW Cannes and hope to have time to go to Monte Carlo too...

I was planning to go for 3 days
St Tropez for 1 day  (Ferry)
Monte Carlo for 1 day (Train)
and Cannes for another

If you go to Monte Carlo for the day
Parking seems to be a disaster maybe take a train there

Did you go yet? I am going soon. I read somewhere online that there are plenty of parking garages in Monaco however they are just costly. Is that the case?

I was just there. I didn’t rent a car but a friend of mine did. The Meridian is about $50/day parking and there’s a lot right near the Monte Carlo casino that’s $25/day I believe

There are no kosher restaurants in Monte Carlo. In Nice we went to Meat Bar which is kind of an Israeli style place with burger, schnitzels, salads. I think they had shawarma too, I'm not sure.

Then the other night we went to Le Dauphin Bleu which has pasta, meats, salads, etc. A bit more upscale but not too fancy.

Food in both places was very decent.

In Cannes we were only there during the day and while the dairy place wasn't open yet for the season, we found this fast food style shawarma/falafel place called Rouvi that was very good. They had bagels, hot dogs, burger, schnitzel, shawarma...small little place with just a few tables but food was very good.

I was there and forgot the name, Rouvi has good falafel and shawarma. Thanks for reviving my memory.

Super helpful, tnx. Le Dauphin is more upper scale than Meat Bar? I will probably try them both.

I wonder if the dairy place in Cannes is any good. Should I just go with Rouvi? Assuming they have Pareve options if I am there early in the day and don't want a huge meal?

Also did you make it to St. Paul De Vence? Wondering if it's as crowded as TA makes it sound....

I though Meat Bar was better then Dauphin Bleu - found food tastier, better service.
I went to dairy place in Cannes. It's in the chabad house. Basic pizza menu, same as every dairy place in Nice. Wouldn't go out of my way. Note that it's only open in the summer.
There are a lot more kosher places in Juan Les Pins  - a whole street of them, both meat and milk. Many Parisiens go on holiday there..Food was good there, but very busy in August...

I'm staying in Cannes and plan on touring Nice and Monte Carlo. Do you guys recommend renting a car or does taking trains make more sense?

No need for a car. Public transportation is the way to go. There are excellent bus and train links.
