I'm amused that this is evolving into a serious conversation. My posts were intended at poking fun at what I perceive is a desire among some Toms River residents to be separate from Lakewood, specifically in terms of politics. They want to portray to the secular community - perhaps wisely - that we are not them, and don't think we are coming here to overpopulate and make traffic.
Just one case in point - when they started some sort of vaad, there was a meeting of rabbonim. Rav Malkiel Kotler was in attendance, because they wanted his guidance and direction. But they specifically didn't release pictures of Rav Malkiel there (not just to the *oop who never posts pictures of the Rosh Yeshiva, but even to other outlets), because they didn't want the wider community to see them as just an extension of Lakewood.
I don't live in Toms River, and my posts were meant to be funny. I guess I sometimes miss the mark.
