Any HVAC experts here that would know if a standard home forced-air-heat furnace requires a vent pipe to fresh air (more specifically - the room in which it's contained)?
Following images show what sort of machine I'm referring to:
Note, I'm
not referring to the flue pipe which goes to the chimney. I'm asking
besides for the flue pipe which goes to a chimney, is there any need for fresh air in the room with this furnace?
I see there's a "fresh air inlet" in the image I attached. But I'm unsure what that's about, and the manual doesn't expound on it (nor give any "warnings" about it). As you can see in the top image, the "return" is on the side where there's supposed to be some sort of filter perhaps, so that has nothing to do with this "fresh air inlet".
I'd appreciate if anyone who's knowledgeable in this field can answer this question.
TIA!
