There was a request to mention this DO on DDF, but as mentioned above, there were a couple primary reasons not to do so.
The first was lack of space, the hotel was extremely unaccommodating in that regard. The second was a lack of familiarity with other DDFers and having to rely on other's kashrus as most of the food was homemade. The actual food prep was difficult, and big props to all those that contributed to that.
A special shout out to the guy that got the sefer torah.
That being said, it was fairly well publicized, I would guess that at least 50-75 ppl had heard abt it before Wednesday. I had personally met abt 5/10 men beforehand. However there were some I had never met before, and am glad I did now.
I'd like to do something like this again, and hope to sometime in the next few months. (early shabbos does make things a little more difficult)
It wasn't hard to get the ball rolling, there were 2 couples ready to make shabbos alone. We ended up with a minyan, that was a big bonus.
